Paul Richmond has over 25 years of experience advising private clients, entrepreneurs and businesses on all aspects of immigration law. With dual expertise in both UK and Swiss immigration systems, he provides strategic, high-level advice to individuals and companies seeking to navigate complex cross-border immigration matters. He is a founding partner of Richmond Chambers and plays a leading role in the firm’s management and development.

Recognised by The Legal 500 as a leading UK immigration barrister, Paul is known for his exceptional knowledge, strategic insight and client-focused approach. He has built a strong reputation for advising high-net-worth individuals, investors, entrepreneurs, family offices, senior executives and business owners on the full spectrum of immigration routes, often involving sensitive, high-value or time-critical matters.

In the UK, Paul’s practice spans both business and personal immigration, including the Innovator Founder visa, Skilled Worker visa, Global Talent visa and family migration routes. He is particularly experienced in securing visas and settlement for clients with complex personal circumstances or atypical business profiles, and has advised clients across a wide range of sectors including technology, finance, arts and culture, and professional sport.

In addition to his UK work, Paul leads the firm’s Swiss immigration practice. He advises on relocation to Switzerland through residence permits based on lump-sum taxation, business investment and intra-corporate transfer. He regularly acts for private clients seeking to establish Swiss residence as part of a wider relocation or wealth structuring strategy, as well as international businesses transferring personnel to Switzerland. His advice is frequently delivered in close coordination with fiduciaries, family offices, tax advisers and corporate service providers, ensuring a holistic and seamless service for clients with complex international needs.

A thought leader in his field, Paul writes and comments regularly on legal and policy developments in both UK and Swiss immigration law.

Paul accepts instructions on a direct access basis from private individuals and businesses seeking expert UK or Swiss immigration advice.
